The Message Sequence View
displays a chart showing the communication sequence between
devices.
Additionally specific transactions (e.g. TCP, HTML, etc.) are marked
and related messages can be grouped – collapsed or expanded – for easy
recognition and investigation:
Figure 184 – Message Sequence View
The Message Sequence View chart consists of two or more vertical lines (or groups of lines), each representing a device sending or receiving a message. The diagonal lines between the vertical lines represent the messages exchanged between the devices. The arrows on these lines are directed from the device transmitting the message to the one receiving it.
Encrypted messages will be indicated by including a small key-like icon on them, colored according to whether the message was decoded successfully or not by the analyzer (implying there might be some encryption keys information missing, etc. – see 16):

The left hand side of the chart displays a capture time reference. The bottom of the chart displays a legend with general information about the device currently shown on the Message Sequence such as: Device number, device long address, message top layer, etc.
When pointing with the mouse on a vertical line or on a specific message (diagonal line), a tooltip showing relevant information appears:

The following options are possible with Message Sequence View:
• Between 2 devices –
accomplished by selecting the two desired devices in Network View (using the
'Ctrl' and mouse left keys) and adding them to the Message Sequence View through
the right-click menu or by dragging and dropping them to the Message Sequence
View window from the drag-and-drop handle (see 6.4). Message Sequence View between two devices can also
be accomplished by dragging and dropping a selected connection from the Network
View window (see 6.7)
Dragging and dropping a single selected
message from Time View or Message View to the Message Sequence View window
(provided that the message includes information of both the transmitting and
receiving devices – unlike broadcast messages), results in adding the
originating and destination devices of the selected message to the Message
Sequence View. If the destination of the message is unknown, only the source
device will be added (and the Message Sequence between this device and All
others will be shown (see description in the following paragraphs)
• Among several devices
(up to 8) on a single screen – accomplished by selecting the desired devices in
Network View (using the 'Ctrl' and mouse left keys) and adding them to the
Message Sequence View through the right-click menu or by dragging them and
dropping them to the Message Sequence View window from the drag-and-drop handle
(see 6.4).
Dragging and dropping
a single selected message from Time View or Message View to the Message Sequence
View window, results in adding the originating and destination devices of the
selected message to the Message Sequence View. If the destination of the message
is unknown, only the source device will be added
• Between a single device
and All others – accomplished by selecting the desired device in Network View
and adding it to the Message Sequence View through the right-click menu or by
dragging and dropping it to the Message Sequence View window from the
drag-and-drop handle (see 6.4).
Dragging and dropping a single selected message
from Time View or Message View to the Message Sequence View window (provided
that the message is transmitted form a specific device but without a specific
destination address – e.g. broadcast messages), results in adding the
originating and destination devices of the selected message to the Message
Sequence View. If the destination of the message is known, both the source and
destination devices will be added
