By right-clicking anywhere on the vertical axis of the Time View, the user can choose to hide elements from the current view according to the group parameter currently chosen.
This feature is useful when looking to temporarily focus on analyzing specific messages (like specific devices, specific channels, etc.), while still keeping the data capture full capabilities set by the current license being used:
Figure 97 – Time View, Hide Elements
Notes:
Hidden elements
will also disappear from the other views based on the hidden parameter chosen
(e.g. if a device is hidden, the device icon and connections will not be seen on
the Network Topology view and its relevant messages will be removed from the
Message Sequence view, the current Message View tabs and new ones will not be
added to the Message View – if relevant, etc.).
If selecting to hide a
specific Protocol Layer, the relevant vertical line that represents that layer
in the Message Sequence View will be shown as a dashed-line (see also chapter
7).
Pressing on the ‘Select’ or ‘Unselect
All’ icons in the ‘Hide Elements’ window (,
) will
select and unselect all the devices in the form list respectively.
The hidden feature can be also set by right clicking on a relevant area in the Message View (Hide/Unhide Messages) or Network and/or Devices View (Hide/Unhide Devices).
Right clicking on the vertical axis and choosing 'Unhide All' will show all elements back into the Time View as well as to the other Perytons™ Protocol Analyzer view sections.
When some elements have been chosen
to be hidden, pressing the Hide/Show Elements icon /
toggles between show all or
show non hidden only elements in the Time, Message and Network/Devices
Views.
Note: After temporarily hiding messages from view, choosing
to show them back will not repopulate them in any of the Message View window
tabs.
