For each device the following information is displayed:
Figure 199 – Devices View table fields
37.2.1 Index
The index number given to this device by the analyzer. This index is allocated to devices according to the order in which they were built by the analyzer and is not related to their role in the network.
Note: The icons shown are not related to the icons of the relevant devices in Network View.
If a device has pairing devices, the small plus (+) icon can be pressed, and the paired devices will be shown.
37.2.2 Network
The Network number that the device is a part of. The Network number is given to this group of devices by the analyzer and is allocated to devices according to the order in which they were built by the analyzer. The Network number is not related to their hierarchy/ role or place in the actual network/s under analysis.
37.2.3 Name
A name deduced from the Device Name attribute sent by the device. The user can (optionally) set the name manually to help in its identification. The device name can be edited using the built-in Devices View editing tool (see paragraph 9.4) or using an external tool on the exported device text file (.ANV).
If given by the user, the device name
is also shown below the device in the Network View window.
If no name has
been given by the user, this field will be left empty.
The user defined devices’ names can be used to group the messages in the time View window (see par. 3.2.6).
37.2.4 Long Add (Long Address)
Long (64 bit) MAC address. If the MAC address is unknown, the address shown will be composed of the PAN:Short addresses.
Organization Unique Identifier – the organization name based on the MAC address as assigned to vendors by the IEEE.
37.2.6 ShortMAC
Short (16 bit) MAC address. If the short address is unknown, this field will be left empty.
37.2.7 ShortPAN
Short (16 bit) MAC PAN address. If the PAN address is unknown, this field will be left empty.
37.2.8 Neighbors
Number of neighbors found for this device. A neighbor is a device that has a direct (one hop) link to this device.
37.2.9 InfoSource
Indicates how did the analyzer ‘learn’ about the existence of this device:
• Direct
The analyzer captured a message sent directly by this device
• Dest
The analyzer captured a message aimed for this device
• NeighborList
The analyzer found this device in another device neighbors' list
• Route
The analyzer found this device in a route table
37.2.10 Type

•Router
•ManyNeighbors
•AddressConflict (a
red flag is added to the device icon)

icon)
