Allows selecting the protocol layer based on which the data captured is analyzed. For example – choosing 802.15.4 will cause the analyzer to decode the 802.15.4 MAC layer of each message, and to display the MAC payload as text or hexadecimal values. Choosing ZigbeeAPS will cause the analyzer to analyzer the 802.15.4 payload as ZigBee Network Layer data (NWL), and to decode the Network Layer data as a ZigBee Application Support layer. The APS payload will be then displayed as text or hexadecimal values.
The captured data is saved as raw data and 'in full'. i.e. although analysis is done in real-time based on the protocol/layer that the user chose in the Capture form, the analysis can be later (offline) done based on any of the protocols/layers supported by the Perytons™ Protocol Analyzer license (as they appear in the protocol drop-down list in the Capture form).
Protocols and layers currently included in the Active Protocol drop-down list are: 6LowPAN, Mac15.4, None (no protocol), RF4CE, ZigBeeAPS, ZigBeeIP, ZigBeeNWL, ZigBeeZDP and ZigBeePRO which includes the following profiles: Energy@Home, ZigBeeBA (Building Automation), ZigBeeHA (Home Automation), ZigBeeGP (Green Power), ZigBeeHC (Health Care), ZigBeeIP, ZigBeeLL (LightLink), ZigBeeNML, ZigBee Retail, ZigBeeSE (Smart Energy), ZigBeeTS (Telecom Services) and ZigBee3S.
Note: The Active Protocol lists gets updated with additional protocols from time to time and without prior notice and updates are included in new versions/revisions of the Perytons™ Protocol Analyzer programs. It is recommended to check for updates (Internet connection is required) using the relevant service within the Perytons™ Protocol Analyzer application ('Help/Check For Updates Online').
In case of customization, when choosing the newly created Plug-in, the customized protocol code (result of the Peryton-SDK Add-On) will be added to the Active Protocol list as an additional option, to allow decoding the messages according to the specific customized protocol directives.
